Cambridge Research Experience Placements in the Physical Sciences (Cam REPPS) – Applications Now Open for Summer 2026!

The School of the Physical Sciences is inviting current undergraduate students to apply for an eight-week placement which will take place in the summer of 2026.

Open to all those who meet the essential and widening participation criteria, our placements are residential and provide an ideal opportunity for those who may not have much, or any, practical research experience by offering an eight week project in one of our departments.

Additional practical training sessions also form a vital part of the programme alongside social activities that provide an opportunity to interact with those on similar placements across the University.

Participants will receive maintenance payments at the real living wage during the eight weeks and this year free college accommodation will be provided by Trinity College.

The placements will begin on Monday 13 July 2026, ending Friday 4 September 2026, with participants expected to arrive in Cambridge on Sunday 12 July

If you are looking to pursue a postgraduate degree after graduating and would like to spend the summer working in one of our departments with outstanding researchers, please review the project list and ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria!

Applications should be made as detailed on the How to Apply page.
